Carter Greenbaum is the Founding Partner of the New York office of the Greenbaum Law Group. He specializes in judgment enforcement, commercial collection, complex civil litigation, trial practice, and class actions involving consumer protection and privacy.
Before opening the New York office of the Greenbaum Law Group, Carter practiced law at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison for eight years. He graduated from Princeton University, B.A., Summa Cum Laude, and Yale Law School. He has successfully represented multinational financial institutions, venture capital firms, manufacturers, and the world’s largest technology corporations in bet-the-company litigation. He also has substantial experience in consumer protection and data privacy involving enforcement actions by the Federal Trade Commission and the New York Attorney General and in class actions. He routinely advises clients on collection, advertising, and privacy best practices and high-stakes matters involving class actions, contract disputes, and other matters.
Carter has argued before the New York and New Jersey appellate divisions, in various federal and state courts, and before numerous JAMS and ICC arbitration panels.
Carter graduated from Yale Law School and Princeton University, Summa Cum Laude, where he won numerous awards for his senior thesis on international commercial arbitration and received Princeton’s highest honor for creative writing. He clerked for the Hon. Wendy Beetlestone in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
